This website is amazing. I lived in Isla Vista and Santa Barbara for a couple of years from 1971 to the day after the Grateful Dead / New Riders concert. I remember so many of the gigs you have listed! There are a few that I don't see also. Dave Mason with"Shante" or something like that up in the Bowl. Those who didn't pay took down the fence and Dave said he wouldn't continue unless the fence was put back... the cowd obliged! Also Paul Butterfield Better Days with Sonny Terry and Brownie MeGhee on the same bill at the Bowl. Freddie King and Albert King at the Gym? So many great memories of music in those day. Artists would appear out of nowhere with a small amp on campus and just start playing... did War set up outside on campus? I vaguely remember "Low Rider" coming from a band one day... Al Kooper may have played on his own too. I worked up on the Mesa and Mike Love got locked in to our property (his MG) and his wife retrieved it the next day. I thinkhe had a house nearby. They were going to purchase the site for the Love Foundation but it fell through. Fess Parker was also interested. I saw him walk through one sunny day. I think it became a public park eventually.
